National Sports Teams Messengers Of Peace, Friendship: Official

Tehran, March 30, IRNA – An Iranian official said here Saturday that members of Iranian national teams, soccer team in particular, are considered as messengers of peace and friendship at international arenas. Head of Public Diplomacy Buruea of Iran Foreign Ministry Mohammad Hossein Mirza-Aqaei made the remarks while addressing fans of national teams. He underlined that his ministry supports any move in line with displaying the Islamic Republicˈs national unity, solidarity and authority. Iranˈs National soccer team secured its place at the FIFA 2014 World Cup in Brazil, after it recorded a 1-0 victory against South Korea on June 18, 2013. The 2014 tournament in Brazil will mark Iran’s fourth World Cup appearance./end
