No Splash In The Pool For Malaysian Divers On Third Day Of Competition

From Zuriati Zulmi INCHEON (South Korea), Oct 1 (Bernama) -- The third day of diving competitions saw no splash in the pool for Malaysian divers who competed in the men's and women's individual 1m Springboard. Ooi Tze Liang/Ahmad Amsyar Azman failed to produce their silver medal winning feat yesterday as they could only manage fifth and sixth positions respectively. Tze Liang, collected 356.70 points while Ahmad Amsyar managed 352.75 for sixth position after both produced poor performances in their 3.0 difficulty dives, collecting just 33 and 30 points respectively. Chinese divers, He Chao and He Chong, both brothers, swept the top two spots in the event with splendid performances to collect 462.85 and 443.10 points respectively to win the gold and silver. Women divers fared no better as Cheong Jun Hoong and Nur Dhabitah Sabri also finished their 1m Springboard individual event in fifth and sixth spots with 257.75 and 254.40 points respectively. Just like the men's event, two Chinese divers - Shi Tingmao (309.05) and Wang Han (287.4) swept the gold and silver in the event. --BERNAMA
