Olympic and World Champion Van Niekerk Announces his Participation in 2019 Qatar IAAF World Championships

Johannesburg, February 28 (QNA) - South African athlete Wayde van Niekerk, the Olympic and 400m world record holder, announced today that he will participate in the 2019 Qatar IAAF World Championships which will be organized from 27 September to 6 October 2019. Wayde van Niekerk (26) said in a press conference that he will be in Doha, and his team is patient and working continuously since returning from injury. He added that he would be ready to participate in the Championships and able to compete. The 400m world record holder, Wayde van Niekerk, has been forced to pull out of competitions after seriously injuring his knee during a celebrity touch rugby match in 2017, and hi rehabilitation program, included visits to the United States of America, Qatar and South Africa.
