Osasuna midfielder Nekounam dispels rumors of Galatasaray move

TEHRAN,Feb.23(MNA)--Osasuna midfielder Javad Nekounam said that he has not heard anything official about a bid by Galatasaray to sign him, amid rumors that the Turkish team has its sights on the player. With his current deal expiring in June 2013, there have been suggestions that Galatasaray will sign the 31-year-old midfielder. According to Spanish site Fichajes, the Istanbul team looks forward to signing the Iran captain for the next year. Nekounam, who joined Osasuna in 2006, has played 162 games for the team and scored 25 goals. “I’ve not heard anything about that. Maybe, they’ve talked to my agent but I like Osasuna,” said Javad Nekounam in an interview with Iran Varzeshi sports daily. This is the second time that rumors have surfaced of Nekounam moving to Galatasaray.
