OUR "HAKUHO" WINS EMPEROR’S CUP 31ST TIME

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Yokozuna-titled "Hakuho" M.Davaajargal, the Mongolian, has won the Emperor’s Cup at the 2014 autumn professional sumo tournament, which concluded on Sunday in Tokyo, Japan. This is his 31st win which brings him closer to the record in the sumo. For the time being, he is the second alongside Chiyonofuji, a title of the all-time career record is held by Yokozuna Taiho (32 wins). On the final day of the tournament, Davaajrgal defeated his countryman Yokozuna "Kakuryu" M.Anand. Another Mongolian “Ichinojo” A.Ichinnorov made a brilliant debut at the highest division of sumo and gained 13 wins, so he earned both the Outstanding Performance Prize and Fighting Spirit Prize. A Mongolian veteran sumo wrestler and State Honored Sportsman “Kyokutenho” N.Tsevegnyam got a majority of wins at the tournament at the age of 40. On Monday, Davaajargal is arriving home to attend one event in Ulaanbaatar.
