Pakistan Top Group B After Thrashing Oman 7-1

KUANTAN (Pahang, Malaysia), Nov 18 (Bernama) -- Pakistan thrashed Oman 7-1 to emerge winners of Group B in the 8th Men's Junior Asia Cup 2015 at the Kuantan Hockey Stadium here Tuesday. Muhammad Dilber drew first blood for Pakistan in the 3rd minute before Shafi Al Shatar pulled level for Oman two minutes later. That was as far as the Omanis got as their keeper was spending the rest of the time retrieving the ball from the back of the net. Pakistan then opened the floodgates with the rest of their goals coming via Abu Mahmood (8th, 28th minutes), Muhammad Bilal Qadir (15th), Muhammad Atiq (34th) followed by Muhammad Dilber achieving a hattrick with his other goals coming in the 62nd and 65th minutes respectively. In another Group B match, Bangladesh pulled off an upset when they defeated South Korea 2-0. Md Sarower Hossain and Milon Hossain were the heroes for Bangladesh when they scored in the 25th and 46th minutes respectively, both field goals. With the conclusion of the group stage, Pakistan ended up with a full nine points while Bangladesh were runners-up with six points.
