Pandelela, Mun Yee Win Bronze Medal In 10m Platform

INCHEON, Sept 30 (Bernama) -- Pandelela Rinong and her partner Leong Mun Yee (left) won the bronze medal in the synchronised 10m platform at Munhak Park Tae-hwan Aquatics Centre Tuesday. Malaysia's top diving pair collected 313.92 points to deliver the country's third medal in diving. The gold medal went to favourites Chen Ruolin and Liu Huixia of China who collected 346.5 points. Kim Unhyang and Song Namhyang of North Korea were the surprise silver medalists. They collected 320.64 points. For the record, Pandelela and Mun Yee won the silver medal in the same event at 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games in China. "I felt a little disappointed but have to admit that the Chinese and the North Korean divers have made big improvement. "I am happy to win medals for the country but my performance was not very good. I did a little mistake on the fourth jump," said Pandelela. Mun Yee has yet to return empty handed from the Asiad. She won the bronze medal in the 3m springboard at 2002 Busan Asian Games with Farah Begum Abdullah and the bronze medal in the individual 3m springboard at 2006 Doha Asian Games.
