Parliament members challenge each other in chess games

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A chess competition among members of parliament dubbed as “Tsetsen Tushee” (literal meaning “Wise Official”) took place at the State House on February 6. The opening addresses were given by Secretary General of the Parliament Office Ts.Tsolmon, G.Zandanshatar MP and Director General of the Mongolian Chess Federation B.Naranbaatar. This was the first-ever chess competition of parliament members. Among the members of the State Great Khural, many are chess fans, who are devoted to promoting the growth of this intellectual sport in Mongolia. In men’s division, Deputy Speaker Ts.Nyamdorj and O.Enkhtuvshin, G.Zandanshatar, Kh.Bolorchuluun, A.Sukhbat, G.Temuulen and L.Oyun-Erdene MPs competed. B.Saranchimeg, A.Undraa and B.Undarmaa MPs competed in the women’s division. G.Zandanshatar and B.Saranchimeg won their respective divisions. Also, a lobby group was established, headed by L.Oyun-Erdene MP, to support chess development on the level of legislature.
