PM praises golfer "May" and outstanding Thai athletes

BANGKOK, May 10 (TNA) - Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha praises Ariya "May" Jutanugarn for becoming the latest champion in the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) tournament in the United States, saying this year is a golden year of Thai athletes. Government Spokesman Major General Sansern Kaewkamnerd told journalists on May 9 that the prime minister has admired Ariya for winning the world-class competition at the age of only 20 years. The spokesman quoted the prime minister as saying this year is a golden year of Thai athletes in many sports, making Thai people happy and, importantly, building a good reputation for Thailand. The prime minister wished Ariya and all world-renowned Thai athletes to be more successful and good models for Thai teenagers. The spokesman stated that the prime minister also advised students to spend activity hours on finding their interest and special capabilities, including sports ones. (TNA)
