Preparations to host Nasser bin Hamad triple crown series underway

Manama, Nov. 10 (BNA): His Majesty the King’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa instructed to take the necessary measures to prepare for hosting Ironman Championship in Bahrain on the 5th of December. The championship will be the third and final stage of Nasser Bin Hamad Triple Crown series, one of the most distinguished triathlon competitions in the world. Nasser Bin Hamad Triple Crown Organising Committee announced that it is cooperating with Ironman Europe, Middle East and Africa Organisation to inspect the race course and set a comprehensive plan to ensure the success of the race, which is expected to host the best triathletes in the world. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa underscored the significant position the Kingdom of Bahrain is holding among sports events hosting countries, adding that hosting such an international championship, which is organised for the first time in the Middle East, in addition to hosting the final stage of the Triple Crown series is definitely an opportunity to promote the Kingdom and its recent developments and achievements. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa directed to ensure implementing efficient organisnig procedures during the days of the race and to avoid the flaws that occurred in the previous edition of the race, reaffirming his trust in the organising committee’s responsibility to reflect a positive image of the Kingdom of Bahrain in this important event. It’s worth mentioning that Nasser Bin Hamad Triple Crown Series was launched in Dubai last year and includes two more stages in Zell am See in Austria and Bahrain. A huge cash prize was set by Ironman for the winner of the series. Bahrain Endurance 13 Ironman Team member Daniela Ryf is nominated to win the prize, after she won first place of both Dubai and Zell am See races.
