Presentation on Shaikh Nasser award made

Manama, May 14 (BNA): Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Scientific Research Award in the field of sports general secretary Dr Abdulrahman Sayyar attended a symposium on scientific research and using technology in sports held in Dubai recently. The symposium, which took place from May 8 to 11, was organized by Union of Arab National Olympic Committees in cooperation with the Youth and Sports Directorate at the Arab League and the UAE Olympic Committee. During his opening remarks, Dr Sayyar made visual presentation on Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Scientific Research Award in the field of sports, to be held this year for the second consecutive time, but this time it will be open for Arab researchers. Dr Sayyar’s feedback on this visual presentation of the award was submitted to representatives of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) on Wednesday. He said the award was broadly admired by the attendees at the symposium, who lauded the efforts and contributions of His Majesty the King Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and BOC President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Attending the meeting from the BOC side were Nawaf Abdulrahman, Seema Al Kharraz, Asma’a Al Kaabi and Mamoon Al Khateeb. Unlike in the previous edition, which was only open for Bahrainis, this edition of the award will see participants from all around Arab countries. The award aims at promote positive attitudes towards scientific research to create knowledge and contribute to the development of sports movement. The winner in each part of the award will receive a certificate of appreciation, signed by Shaikh Nasser, in addition to a cash prize and commemorative gift-bearing symbol of the award.
