President Rouhani Congratulates Iran Beach Soccer Team

Tehran, Nov 24, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani, in a message on Saturday, congratulated the victory of the Iranian Beach Soccer Team against the Russian team by gaining the result of 4-3 in the final match of the Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup in the United Arab Emirates. Iranian National Beach Soccer Team clinched the title from the world champion. “I am confident that this victory is a prelude to the powerful presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran in all sport fields,” President Rouhani said on Saturday in his message. Iran had won the host, the UAE, 2-1 in the semi-final. In its first game on Tuesday, Iran beat world champion Russia 5-3 in a penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw in a Group B encounter. Then, the wonderful Iranians won Brazil again in penalty shootouts on Wednesday. The two teams drew 4-4 in the regulation time, but the Iranians won the match 7-5 in the penalty kicks.
