Qatar Al Gharafa FC Signs Brazilian Defender Lucas Mendes

Doha, February 11 (QNA) - Al Gharafa announced today that it has signed former Al Duhail Brazilian defender Lucas Mendes to strengthen the team in the rest of the Qatari league and also for the AFC Champions League preparations. Al Gharafa decided to sign the new Brazilian defender on the AFC Champions League list, instead of Dutch football star Wesley Sneijder, until the end of his treatment period, which may take some time. Al Gharafa is looking forward present good performance in the next edition of the Champions League, which will start in a few days, during which Al Gharafa will play one match in hopes of qualifying for the group stage later. Al Gharafa also seeks to improve his ranking in the Qatari league table, especially as the club did not present the expected levels in the first round of the league. (QNA)
