Qatar Lose to Japan in Asian Qualifiers for FIBA World Cup

Toyama, Japan, November 30 (QNA) - Qatar's national basketball team lost to Japan (47-85) in Toyama in the third round of Group B in the second and final round of the FIBA World Cup 2019 qualifiers in China. The four sets results came as follow (20-15, 11-17, 30-8, 24-7) for Japan. The Qatari team performed well in the first set, which ended in favor of a difference of 32-31, where the players were quick in attack and defense comparing to the players of the Japanese team. Two matches were also scheduled in the same group, the first match finished with the victory of Australia on Iran (76-47) and Kazakhstan over Philippines (92-88). The Qatari team is heading to Australia after playing against Japan, where they will face Australia in Melbourne on Monday in the fourth round of qualifying, and then Qatar will face their Philippine counterpart on February 21 in Doha on the fifth round, and Qatar will end their qualifying matches against Japan on February 24 in Doha in the sixth and final round. Qatar's national basketball team reached the second and final round after finishing third in the first round of qualifying group, and went up to the second round with the teams of Iran and Kazakhstan in the same group, but Qatar team will not play with Iran and Kazakhstan because the three teams faced each other's in the first round of the qualifying round.
