Qatar is Ready to Organize Qatar 2022 World Cup: Nasser Al Khater

Doha, January 28 (QNA) - Nasser Al Khater, Executive Director of Communications and Marketing for the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SCDL) affirmed Wednesday that Qatar is ready to organize the 2022 World Cup at whatever time of year ,whether that be summer, winter, fall or spring. Speaking to Brazilian media workers during their visit to the SCDL's headquarters on the sidelines of the 24th Men's Handball World Championships in 2015, Al Khater stated that we are waiting FIFA decision on date of the 2022 World Cup after the formation of a committee to decide the deadline. He added that there will be a meeting will be held here to disclose the deadline on February 24. He explained that there were a set of tournaments held Qatar during the summer that were successful, saying that the committee submitted the file on the basis of tournament can be held in the summer as Qatar developed stadium cooling systems in the stadiums and open areas for fans. Al Khater noted that using such cooling technologies in fan-zones during Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup was a successful experiment, which is considered a biggest proof of Qatar's ability to organize 2022 World Cup in the summer. Khater said that the former president of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Mohammed bin Hammam has no any formal or informal role towards Qatar file for 2022World Cup. (QNA)
