Qatar Tennis Federation Holds General Assembly to Discuss Developing the Game

Doha, February 16 (QNA) - The General Assembly of Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation was held today a meeting under the chairmanship of Nasser Al Khulaifi, on the sidelines of the Qatar Open Women's Open Qatar Open. The meeting discussed ways to develop tennis, squash and badminton in Qatar as well as to improve the level of Qatari players in these different sports, either by increasing the number of international and local championships or involving players in tournaments and outdoor camps and increasing other development programs focusing on the national coach program. The meeting also discussed the results and achievements of the national teams in various age groups during the past year, in addition to the ways the federation can develop them. The general assembly also discussed the federation's new budget. Secretary-General of the Federation Tarek Al Zainal said after the assembly that they discussed the future plans to develop tennis, squash and badminton in cooperation with Qatar Olympic Committee. He added that they highlight appreciate the committee's commitment to ensuring the future success of all the federation's programs and plans. He added that the meeting also discussed the biggest future events, particularly the hosting the squash World Championships in Qatar at the end of the year. He said that the federation is looking to organize a special edition that reflects the status of the State of Qatar in the sports field, thanks to the unlimited support of the country's wise leadership.
