Qatar Volleyball Team Face India on Wednesday at Asian Games

Jakarta, August 21 (QNA) - Qatar volleyball team will meet India on Wednesday in Group F match of the volleyball competitions in the 18th Asian Games, held in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang and lasts until September 2, with the participation of more than 11,000 male and female athletes from 45 Asian countries participating in 40 sports including 465 competitions. The Qatari team seeks to continue its good results after defeating the Maldives in the first match. India defeated Hong Kong in its first match. Qatar keens on winning tomorrow's game in order to secure the top of the group. India will be a tougher opponent than the Maldives; however, the Qatari team has several top players and can beat the Indian team. In the beach volleyball competitions, Qatar A team beat South Korea 2/0 on Tuesday to top its group. Qatar dominated the game and won the first half 21/9 and the second half 21/15. Qatar B team will take on Iran on Wednesday. Qatar participates in the 2018 Asian Games with 222 athletes representing 20 sports federations. They will compete in 30 different sports. Qatar will also compete in two sports that were first introduced in the history of the Asian Games: basketball 3x3 and air sports. (QNA)
