Qatari Champions Win in the Official Practices of Superstock 600, Touring Cars

Doha, December 02 (QNA) - The two Qataries Champions Saeed Al Sulaiti and Hamad Al Sulaiti won the first official practices of the third edition of the Qatar Motorcycle championship "Superstock 600" and Qatar Touring Car Championship held on the Lusail international circuit with the participation of about 30 contestants, in preparation for the launch of the first round of the competitions on the December 6-7. Saeed Al Sulaiti was the fastest motorcyclist with a lap time of 2:05.131 on Day 2 during the last session, ahead of Mishal Al Naimi, the runner up of last year's championship who finished second with a time of 2:05.178. Last year's Rookie, Abdullah Al Qubaisi was the third fastest in a time of 2:05.367. Nasser Al Malki and Hungarian Balint Kovacs completed the top five while Fahad Al Sowaidi (2:08:149), Qatari Jassim Al Thani (2:09:856), Kuwaiti Mohammad Al Zaidan (2:10:511), Ali Al Shammari (2:13:756) and Kuwaiti Nawaf Al Shuabi (2:14:686) made up the top ten. Saeed Al Sulaiti was very happy with the overall results of the official test and he said "To be honest, I faced difficult times for this weekend as unfortunately I broke my finger last week while training but I was able to ride and suffer the pain and in the second day I set the fastest time." He added "I am also really happy with Abdulla's performance compared to last season, he is much faster and for sure that this season there will be more than two riders competing for the championship." Saeed Al Sulaiti also expressed gratefulness to Abdulrahman Al Mannai (QMMF President) and Khalid Al Remaihi (LCSC Vice President and General Manager) for their support and also to Ooredoo to continue with their sponsorship'. Qatari motorcyclist Mishal Al Naimi expressed satisfaction with the performance he showed during the first official experiments and the result he achieved in the face of some problems in the front tire of the bike which crashed completely, believing that he will seek the best during the first rounds of the Qatar Motorcycle Championship weekend. Al Naimi said he felt that the competition for the title this season will be strong in the context of the convergence of time between more than one contestant, thanking those who organize this tournament, which gives the opportunity to many young people, and wish the tournament to emerge this season in a distinctive and successful way. The practices saw the return of the Hungarian racer Hungarian Balint Kovacs to Qatar to race again to participate in the tournament, which he considered the best preparation for him before the participation in the /IDM/ and Suzuki on the class of the 1000 cc bike, and looked forward this season to achieve positive results beginning of the opening round. During the two-day official practice of Qatar Touring Car Championship, Qatari champion Hamad Al Sulaiti was able to win the first official practice in the absence of Abdullah Al Khulaifi, the title holder in the last two versions, after registering the fastest time in the lap and occupy the first place with a time of 2.28.541 minutes and a difference of 0.327 seconds from the nearest rivals Qatari driver Mohammed Al Khayat second place with a time of 2.28.868 minutes. Khalid Al Rehmaihi, Lusail Circuit Sports Club vice chairman and general secretary said that he looks forward to the start of the new season in the light of the high turnout for both drivers and riders from the countries of Europe and the State of Kuwait. In a press statement, Al Rehmaihi said he is very happy with this great participation and proud of what the tournament has achieved in the last two seasons, expecting that this season will be a great success under the strength of the competition to win both in the categories of Motorcycle Championship and Touring Cars.
