Qatar's Basketball Team Lose to Australia

Doha, September 13 (QNA) - Qatar's basketball team lost to Australia (43-95) in their match played on Thursday at Al Gharafa Sports Club within the second leg of the Asian Cup qualifiers for 2019 World Cup finals to be held in China. The match's results were 12-24, 12-16, 3-30, and 16-25 for Australia which tops Group B. Qatar will face the Philippines on Monday in the second round of qualifying. The Qatari team had reached the second round after finishing third in the first round of the Group's qualifying along with the teams of Iran and Kazakhstan. The team finished in sixth place with 9 points in the Group B, while the Australian team topped the Group with 13 points. Group A includes New Zealand, Lebanon, Jordan, South Korea, China and Syria, while Group B is Qatar, Australia, Iran, Philippines, Kazakhstan and Japan. (QNA)
