Doha, February 04 (QNA) - With less than six months to go until the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) is encouraging the nation to get together and celebrate Olympic sports on National Sport Day 2016. The QOC has today released information about the Olympic sporting activities that will be on offer for all ages and abilities across Qatar. Speaking ahead of National Sport Day, Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee, HE Dr. Thani Abdulrahman al-Kuwari, said: It is a very exciting year for sport with the greatest sporting event in the world just six months away. We are encouraging everyone to come together on National Sport Day and #BeOlympic by taking part in our activities across Qatar. Whether you are an aspiring Olympian or simply want to participate for fun, there is something available for everyone. There is no better occasion to be inspired by the Olympic spirit and unite our nation through our shared passion for sport, whilst having fun with family and friends. The QOC will be organising activities in the Qanat Quartier of The Pearl in conjunction with the United Development Company. From 8am-4pm, the beachfront will come alive with sporting activities, competitions and entertainment.
