QOC Launches Improvement Program for Al Firjan Playgrounds

Doha, August 19 (QNA) - Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) has launched an improvement program to replace and change the pitch grass for all Al Firjan (Areas) playgrounds across the country, according to QOC website. The improvement project for Al Firjan playgrounds will run in two stages, the first of which covers the following playgrounds, Ein Khalid, Abo Hamour, Nuaijah East, Old Airport, Khalifa city, Al Markhia, North Duhail, while the second stage will begin next year to include Duhail South, Al Azizia, Al Assiri, Umm Slal, Nuajah West, and Al Wakrah. The QOC improvement program mainly aims to prepare the local football playgrounds (Artificial grass) according to the international standards and the global specifications approved by the FIFA. QOC as governing sport body is in charge of managing, operating, maintaining these playgrounds in terms of security works, cleaning, electro-mechanics repairs, as well as appointed one supervisor for each playground.
