Russian Embassy Organises Photo Exhibition On 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics

KUALA LUMPUR, April 23 (Bernama) -- To commemorate their success of organising the recently concluded 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games, the Embassy of Russia in Malaysia is currently holding a photo exhibition of the games at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Jalan Ampang, here. Director of Culture and Education of the Russian Embassy, Alexander Gulko said the 10-day exhibition which started Tuesday features 50 photos, showcasing all the exciting moments endured by athletes who competed in the games. "All this photos were contributed by our own Itar-Tass News Agency photojournalists who covered the games," he told reporters after the launch of the exhibition by Russian Ambassador to Malaysia, Liudmila G. Vorobyeva. Gulko also hoped foreign diplomats and locals will visit the exhibition which is open free to the public from 9am to 4pm, daily. Besides the photo exhibition, the centre would also feature 60 paintings by special children around the Klang Valley and headed by 47-year-old French-Russian Artist, Victoria Renaux Abdoulaeva, who has been in Malaysia for the past few years. Russia emerged as the overall champion among the 26 countries that participated with 13 gold, 11 silver and nine bronze medals. -- BERNAMA
