Russian Pervak and Serbian Jaksic are in the next stage of Baku Cup 2014

Baku, July 21 (AzerTAc). Two Russian tennis players, Elizaveta Kulichkova and Ksenia Pervak showed interesting match in the 3rd court of the Baku Cup 2014 international tournament. Pervak, who due to the injury had to stop her struggle in 2012 against the American player Julia Kohen, who later could reach the final, plays in a more dedicated manner this year to show all her abilities. 23-year-old Pervak, prevailing in the match against Kulichkova won 2:0 (6:4, 6:3). Olga Savchuk will be the rival of Pervak in the second tour. In parallel to this match, Yovana Jaksic of Serbia and Raluca Olaru of Romania played in the Central Court. In the first set of the match, which was accompanied with a tough struggle, neither of the rivals could dominate. In the first set lasting 1 hour 24 minutes Jaksic was behind 2:5 when she could make a turn in the match and started leading. Finally she won the set 7:6 which lasted till the tie-break. A Serbian tennis player, who benefited from weaknesses of her rival in a very skilful way, won in this set easier as in the first one. Jovana Jaksic won the second set 6:1, and the match 2:0 thus passing to the second tour. 20-year old Jaksic who is the world’s 123 seed will next face the winner of the match Katerina Bondarenko (UKR) – Sofia Shapatava (GEOD).
