Russian ski jumpers win gold in ladies’ team competition at 2015 Winter Universiade

STRBSKE PLESO /Slovakia/, January 29. /TASS/. Russian ski jumpers Anastasiya Gladysheva and Irina Avvakumova won gold on Thursday in ladies’ team competition at the at 2015 Winter Universiade Nordic Skiing and Biathlon held in Slovakia’s Strbske Pleso and Osrblie between January 24 and February 1. Competing at the Sporting Centre FIS in Strbske Pleso, Gladysheva and Avvakumova showed an aggregate result of 392.3 points to bring the Russian national team another gold at this Universiade. Japan’s Aki Matsuhashi and Yuka Kobayashi won silver with the final result of 385.9 points, while Vladena Pustkova and Michaela Dolezelova both earned 322.8 points to take the bronze. According to the official website of the International University Sports Federation (FISU), the Winter Universiade is an international sporting and cultural festival which is staged every two years in a different city. It is only second to the Olympic Games. The program of the Winter Universiade currently includes 6 compulsory sports (8 compulsory disciplines) and up to 3 optional sports chosen by the host country.
