SC Holds "Harnessing the Power of Sport to Achieve Sustainable Development" Exhibition in New York

New York, September 20 (QNA) - The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) is organising an exhibition on "Harnessing the Power of Sport to Achieve Sustainable Development" at the United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York on Friday. It will be held in conjunction with the intergovernmental organisation's annual General Assembly. The exhibition will highlight the various efforts and initiatives undertaken by the State of Qatar to encourage sustainable socio-economic development, cohesion, and respect for culture through sports - all of which will become key pillars of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar. During the event, the SC will showcase a number of 2022 FIFA World Cup projects and initiatives focused on various sustainable development goals, including health and wellbeing, quality education, economic growth, industry, innovation and infrastructure and sustainability. A number of high-ranking UN officials are due to participate in the exhibition, along with leaders from the business and sports sectors as well as international media publications. As part of the UN General Assembly Week, senior SC delegations will also participating in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Media Zone & Solutions Summit, a discussion platform to promote global engagement with SDGs.
