Scientific research seminar applications deadline announced

Manama, Sept. 1 (BNA): The last day for submitting applications for a seminar on scientific research in the field is on Saturday (September 5), the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) announced yesterday (Tuesday). The two-day seminar, which focuses on the importance of scientific research in developing sports movement in the Arab world, is scheduled for September 16 and 17 at Rami Grand Hotel in Seef. It’s part of this year’s Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Scientific Research Award in the field of sports, organised for the third consecutive year. More than 170 academics and researchers in the fields of sports management, sports medicine and sports training from Bahrain and other Arab countries have already submitted their names last week. A purpose-formed committee, tasked at receiving entry requests from applicants, can be emailed on mmatar@boc.bh. The award, in its third edition, aims at promote positive attitudes towards scientific research to create knowledge and contribute to the development of sports movement. Among main objectives of the award is to encourage experts and researchers, locally and regionally, to conduct applied scientific research to develop sports movement and improve the level of performance in all areas of sports. Other goals is to support the scientific research in accordance with the sports community needs, locally and regionally, honouring pioneers in scientific research in the field of sports, locally and regionally, besides promoting positive attitudes towards scientific research in the field of sports to enrich knowledge and contribute to the development of the sports movement. The winner in each part of the award will receive a certificate of appreciation, signed by Shaikh Nasser, in addition to a cash prize and commemorative gift-bearing symbol of the award.
