SEA GAMES (JUDO) - HORAS WINS SILVER

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 28 (Antara) - Indonesian judo athlete Horas Manurung failed to take home a gold medal in the men's -81 kg in the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games 2017 in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, having lost to Thailand's Masayuki Terada in the finals. In the finals, Horas scored 0 after his opponent recorded ippon, allowing the Thai judo athlete to win a gold medal. "Whatever the result is I have tried my best. To be honest, I had a problem before I played," he said referring to his injured left ankle before the competition. "Regardless of whether or not I am content with the result, I played in the game which is different from my special skill," he said. Horas played in the men's -81 kig after the men's 90 kg was not contested in the SEA Games 2017. Secretary General of the All Indonesia Judo Athletes Association (PJSI) Bachtiar Utomo said he was satisfied with the fact that Indonesia emerged as an overall champion in the judo event. "I am satisfied with it. In terms of achievement, we have made progress. But we also have to evaluate our performance in the events in which we lost," he said.
