Shahram Mahmoudi ruled out of FIVB World League final

TEHRAN,July 9(MNA) - Iran’s volleyball key player Shahram Mahmoudi has been ruled out of the 2014 FIVB World League final due to injury. Mahmoudi sustained a twisted ankle in the match against Poland during the FIVB World League on June 30. The injury caused him to withdraw from the 2014 FIVB World League final six in Italy. “The MRI scan on Mahmoudi's ankle shows there is a lot of inflammation and swelling in this area”, Iran team doctor Siamak Afroozi said. The 2014 FIVB World League will be held at the Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence, Italy from July 16. In Pool I, Iran will play the world’s first two teams Brazil and Russia in a single round-robin.
