Shaikh Khalid lauds Bahraini team's performance

Las Vegas, July 7 (BNA): His Highness, Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, the founder of KHK MMA continued following Bahrain's participation in the third edition of the International Championship for Mixed Martial Arts Amateur fighting organized by the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation IMMAF cooperation with the Ultimate Fighting Organization "UFC" held from July 5 to 10 in the convention center in Las Vegas. His Highness was eager to follow up on the journey of the team in the tournament with an entourage, to check on the final preparations of the team and get the results the moment by moment. HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad praised the great performance displayed by Abdulla Seena, in his bout with New Zealand fighter Lath Stevens during the second stage of the World Championship. Despite his loss, Seena still managed to deliver a convincing performance, His Highness stressed that the fighting spirit and high capabilities that were displayed during the fight is evidence of the improvement of the fighters mental and physical abilities thus allowing them to face the best amateur fighters. High highness consequently wished Seena luck in the upcoming tournament. HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad pointed out that this Championship is an opportunity to expose to Bahraini fighters to the field of the world in order to raise their confidence and fighting expertise. It will also open broader horizons for them in the near future and let them enter the world of professional fighting. His Highness praised the efforts of fighter Fahad Abdulrazaq who managed to reach the quarter-finals and deliver a fantastic performance during his participation. He added that Abdulrazaq is unlike other fighters of his age, as he possess the spirit of offense. His Highness wished him luck and success in the upcoming bouts to win a medal that will help raise and qualify him to enter the world of orofessionalism, and honour the Kingdom of Bahrain in this global celebration. Seena bows out of the World Championship in the second stage Fighter Abdulla Seena who participated in the "61 kilograms" category was unsuccessful in defeating New Zealand fighter, Lath Stevens with points. The three rounds of the bout ended with neither of the fighters managing to end the fight, the first round was at Seena's level but he lost, he managed a strong performance in the second round in his favor, and almost put the bout to an end after putting his opponent in a chokehold but Stevens managed to escape it, with difficulty. The third round was of equal performance between the two fighters, but the referees decided in favor of the Kiwi fighter, making Seena bow out of his second participation in Championship during the second stage in this world celebration. Renat: Bahraini fighters proved themselves in the global arena Russian coach of Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa Mixed Martial Arts Organisation team, Renat Abu Ahmad pointed out that the team delivered good performances during the Wolrd Championships bouts, which emphasized on the improvement of their fighting skills and abilities. He added that Bahraini fighters have a place among the world fighters. The coach thanked everyone for their participation in the Championships and wished fighter Fahad Abdulrazaq luck in the upcoming bout as he is the only Bahraini representative in the final rounds. Fahad Abdulrazaq and hopes Hopes fall on fighter Fahad Abdulrazaq who is participating in the "56 Kilograms" category after he qualified to the quarter finals by defeating British Fighter Warren Mason.
