Shaikh Khalid presented with "Desert Force" trophy

Manama, May 27 (BNA): First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and President of the Bahrain Athletics Association Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa received at his residence in Amman, Jordan, Desert Force Chief Executive Officer Zaid Mirza, who presented to him with the trophy of the 17th Desert Force Championship. The title of the championship, held at Al Hussein Youth City Boxing Arena, under the patronage of the Jordanian Crown Prince HRH Prince Al-Hussain ibn Abdulla II, was clinched by Bahraini professional contender Hamza Al-Kooheji, member of Khalid bin Hamad Mixed Martial Arts Team, after taking on Jordanian champion Ghalib Al-Harahsha. Al-Sharif bin Jameel, Director General of Desert Force Mohammed Mirza and a number of officials from "mbc action" were present. Shaikh Khalid discussed with Desert Force CEO ways to enhance cooperation and coordination in order to promote the mixed martial arts sport across the region. He also invited Desert Force to attended the final qualifications for the martial arts, to be held under his patronage at the Khalifa Sports City here tomorrow. Shaikh Khalid left Amman, and was seen off at Markah Airport in Amman by Al-Sharif bin Jameel, Bahrain Military Attaché to Jordan Commodore Isa Mohammed Al-Dosary, Charge d'Affaires Khalifa Al-Hooty, and senior Jordanian officials.
