Shaikh Nasser attends Nasser 9 closing ceremony

Manama, June 23 (BNA): HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, stressed that HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa had personally followed the second HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Ramadan Games "Nasser 9", and this greatly contributed to its success. This came in HH's address delivered during the closing ceremony of Nasser 9, held on Wednesday night at Sofitel Hotel. HH Shaikh Nasser conveyed to the attendees HM the King's greetings and appreciations for their tremendous contributions which ensured the continued success of the event. Moreover, HH Shaikh Nasser announced that "Nasser 10" will witness more innovative ideas in line with the plans targeting expansion of the tournament to include bother genders. HH Shaikh Nasser pointed that the tournament has become a comprehensive national project aiming at transforming the sports in the country and to provide a platform for the youth to shine and optimise their potential. Before concluding his speech, HH Shaikh Nasser thanked the sponsoring companies, ministries and the media that contributed to the success of the event. Ministries and Collaborators Rewarded HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa presented the ministries and other collaborators who supported the event with their awards. They included: the Ministery of Interior, Ministry of Oil, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Works, the Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, the Ministry of Information Affairs, the Ministry of Electricity and Water, the Ministry of Health, the Health Services Department at the BDF, the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, the Bahrain Olympic Committee, the Bahrain Football Association, Special Olympics, Bahrain Bowling Association, Bahrain Swimming Association, Bahrain Table Tennis Association, Bahrain Athletics Association, Bahrain Triathlon Association and Women's Committee for Football. Thereafter, HH Shaikh Nasser rewarded the sponsoring companies, namely: Al Sharif Group, Ibrahim Khalil Kanoo Company, Bahrain Jewellery Centre, Behbehani Brothers W.L.L, Marjan Real Estate, Fast Telecom, Al Namal Group, Bapco, Bader Group. Other companies who supported the event were also recognised during the event, including Hawar Services, Phoenix for Health Clubs, Sofitel Hotel, Phoenix for Creativity and Marketing as well as Gulf Air. The members of the committees of the tournament were also rewarded during the event. Meanwhile, HH Shaikh Nasser presented the special category awards, including the best team award which was earned by Vista Team, best goalkeeper award which was given to Victorious' Abdullah Hassan, the top goal scorer award which was won by Diego of Batelco Gunners United, best player award which was handed to Mahmood Abdulrahman of Batelco Gunners United, the best team's manager which was given to Shaikh Ahmed bin Isa Al Khalifa of Batelco Gunners United, the best administrator award which was taken by Hisham Ismail of Al Zilzal, the best coach award which was given to Sadeeq Khamis Zuwayed of Victorious. HH Shaikh Nasser received several souvenirs in appreciation of his support at the end of the event from Fast Telecom, Mr. Abdullah Hamdan from Kuwait as well as from the Organising Committee President Mr. Tawfeeq Salehi.
