Shaikh Nasser to patronise Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies' World Endurance Championship tomorrow

Manama, March 13 (BNA)-- The Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies' World Endurance Championship starts tomorrow morning at Bahrain International Endurance Village. Personal Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and Honorary President of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa will patronise the event which is being held under the umbrella of the Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Sports Festival . More than 50 riders from Bahrain, the GCC countries and the world will compete in the 90km race that has been divided into three stages, with the first stage set for 40km, and the second stage set for 30km. The third and final stage set for 20km. Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the veterinary examination for the participating horses in the race held today at the Bahrain International Endurance Village where BREEF has set all procedures and arrangements to the success of all stages of the veterinary examination. Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa met with participating riders in the race, as he exchanged talks with them about the event and its importance to expand the women’s endurance sport in the world, specially after the successes of the women’s riders in various international tournaments. He stressed the importance for the riders to do their best in the race in order to achieve top positions. Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa pointed out that the Kingdom of Bahrain is keen to ensure success of the World Championships based on its desire to bring out all the connected tournaments that are held on its soil in a distinct image at all respects. Meanwhile, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and BREEF President Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa attended the acquaintance ceremony, which was held for the participating riders in the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship, in a ceremony held at the Four Seasons Hotel. At the ceremony, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa welcome at the beginning all the participants in the tournament to confirm the strong relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, led by His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, adding that the tournament is one of the tournaments that have strong participation of the elite riders on a global level. He pointed out that the endurance sports has reached to advanced stages, thanks to the significant role played by global federations, which contributed to the development of the endurance sports. Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa wished all the participating riders the luck and success in the race and fair competition to achieve advanced positions and to prove the evolution of endurance women’s sport at the global level. Meanwhile, the Bahrain Sports Channel, in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Sports and Yas Channels will broadcast the event live from Bahrain International Endurance Village. Meanwhile, Tunisian Ambassador to Bahrain Mohammed bin Yousif stressed that the participation of Tunisian riders in the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies' World Endurance Championship is within the framework of brotherly relations between Bahrain and Tunisia, praising the great efforts and preparations to organise the world championship in style.
