Sheikh Joaan Attends Inauguration of IOC New Headquarters

Lausanne, June 23 (QNA) - HE President of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani attended Sunday the inauguration of the new headquarters (Olympic House) of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Lausanne, Switzerland. HE President of the Swiss Confederation Alain Berset, a number of IOC's members, presidents of international federations, heads of national committees and dignitaries of the Olympic Movement attended the inauguration ceremony. The opening of the new headquarters coincides with the 125th anniversary of IOC, which falls on June 23. The IOC's new headquarters glass facade represents IOC's future message of transparency, flexibility, and sustainability. Also, QOC signed an agreement with the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) to host ANOC World Beach Games 2019 and ANOC General Assembly 2019 in October in Doha. HE President of QOC Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani and ANOC Senior Vice-President Robin Mitchel signed the agreement. HE QOC Secretary-General Jassim Rashid Al Buenain and ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg attended the signing of the agreement. (QNA)
