Sheikh Joaan Award Winners of Third Day of HH the Amir Camel Festival

Doha, April 01 (QNA) - HE Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) President Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani awarded the winners of the six main camel races for the age group from three to four years on the third day of annual purebred Arabian Camel Festival on the sword of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani which took place at Al Shahaniya racetrack. The races took place over two sessions, a morning and evening session. During the morning session, the camels of Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Hamad bin Khalid Al-Thani won first (awarded the golden shalfa) and second place in the first race and the third place was won by Al Shahaniya camels. The second race the Al Shahaniya camels won all the three positions, awarding the first the gold dagger. In the evening session, the winners of the four remaining races were divided between camels of Al Shahaniya and Al Shaqab winning the golden shalfa and golden dagger. The third day was for camels for the age group from three to four years in five-kilometer races owned by Their Excellencies the Sheikhs. The fourth day will see the races for camels for the age group from three to four years owned by tribe members. (QNA)
