Solhipour wins powerlifting World Championships silver

TEHRAN,Apr.10(MNA) – Iran’s Hamed Solhipour won the silver medal in the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Powerlifting World Championships in Dubai, the UAE on Wednesday. Solhipour claimed the silver medal with 225kg. Mutaz Zakaria Al Juneidi from Jordan claimed the gold medal with a lift of 229kg. Bronze medal went to Mexican Jose de Jesus Castillo, who lifted 220kg overhead. The 2014 IPC Powerlifting World Championships, which runs from April 5 to 11 in the UAE, has brought over 330 athletes from nearly 60 countries together.
