Strongest Bahraini Championship hailed

Manama, Feb. 18 (BNA): The High Organising Committee of the 2nd Strongest Bahraini Championship will hold a press conference on Tuesday at 4:00 pm at Bahrain International Circuit to shed light on the final arrangements of the event which will be organised under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association and Honourary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities. Taking place under the slogan #Be_a_Beast, the event will kick-off on Thursday, February 21, 2019, and it will conclude after two days (February 23, 2019) at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC). The Championship's proceeds will be donated to support cancer patients as the event is part of HH Shaikh Khalid's humanitarian and sports initiatives. Speaking during the conference are Mr Ahmed Al Shaikh, President of the High Organising Committee of the 2nd Strongest Bahraini Championship and Manager of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Media Office and Mr Ahmed Jamsheer, Head of the Arbitration Committee of the Championship. They will be joined by a representative from the BIC. On this occasion, HE Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, praised the initiatives introduced by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, pointing out that their value manifests in their diversity, comprehensiveness and observance of various aspects of sports, humanity, culture and science. Moreover, HE the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports underlined that reserving the 2nd edition of the Championship's proceeds for cancer patients reflects HH Shaikh Khalid's keenness and interest in humanitarian initiatives. Furthermore, HE Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed his appreciation and gratitude to HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for donating the event's yields to cancer patients, stating that this initiative would have a positive impact on programmes designed to support them.
