Sumiya Dorjsuren brings Mongolia's first medal in Rio 2016

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Sumiya Dorjsuren, wrestled in women's 57 kg category of Rio 2016 Olympics' judo, grabbed the Silver medal and became the first Mongolian to stand on podium in this summer Olympic Games. After a first-round bye, she was challenged against the World Championships bronze medalist Sanne Verhagen from the Netherlands by a shido penalty, making it to the final eight. D.Sumiya also won the bout with four-time world silver medallst Telma Monteiro of Portugal on shidos 1-2. Our D.Sumiya defeated the famous Japanese judoka Kaori Matsumoto, claiming a clear victory at the 22nd second of the bout. In the final bout for Gold, she was defeated to Rafaela Silva of Brazil by a wazari.
