Swimmers Shine in GCC Championship

Doha, February 04 (QNA) - Qatar swimming team opened their campaign in the prestigious GCC Swimming Championship (25m) 2016 on high note, winning 17 medals at the Hamad Aquatics complex in Doha. The Qatar swimming squad confidently claimed 17 medals in Wednesdays competition including 8 gold medals, one silver and 8 bronze medals. Qatars Abdullah Al Khalidi, Noah Abdulaziz Al Kholaifi and Ali A Nuaimi clinched gold medals in backstroke 50m and 100m freestyle respectively. In the evening period, Qatar swimmers sealed additional 5 gold medals in the 400m , butterfly 50m and 100m freestyle. The prestigious event is bringing together four teams including hosts Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Oman.
