Two Malaysian Mixed Pairs Fail To Reach Semi Finals

KUALA LUMPUR, April 17 (Bernama) -- Two Malaysian mixed doubles were shown an exit by China's pairs in the quarter finals match of the 2015 China Masters in Changzhou, China on Friday. Tan Aik Quan/Lai Pei Jing ended their campaign after losing to top seed Liu Cheng and Bao Yixin 19-21 and 18-21 in 36 minutes. The 2013 SEA Games bronze medalists nearly stunned the homesters when they levelled 18-18, but failed to seal the first set with a 19-21 defeat. The duo tried to fight back in the second set but appeared to have lost their momentum which saw the world number four pair finished the quarter final match 21-18. Compatriots Tan Chee Tean/Shevon Lai Jemie failed to cruise to semi finals when they were defeated by unseeded Wang Yilv/Tang Yuanting 21-11 and 21-13. The Chinese took only 29 minutes to dispose the Malaysian world number 51 pair. --BERNAMA
