World Athletics Championship: Ethiopia's Desisa Wins Marathon Gold

Doha, October 06 (QNA) - Ethiopia's Lelisa Desisa won the marathon gold medal in the IAAF World Athletics Championship Doha 2019. At Doha Corniche, Lelisa Desisa ran 42km and 195m in 2 hours, 10 minutes and 40 seconds to win the marathon race. Ethiopia's Mosinet Geremew came in second place followed by Kenya's Amos Kipruto. Desisa ended an 18-year wait for Ethiopia to win the marathon. Following his victory, Desisa expressed pride in winning the marathon gold medal in the IAAF World Athletics Championship Doha 2019.
