World Athletics Championships: Al Hamad Praises Success of Opening Ceremony

Doha, September 28 (QNA) - Vice President of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and Director-General of the competition Dahlan Al Hamad expressed Saturday his delight with the success of the competition, particularly the opening ceremony that took place at Al Corniche. Al Hamad thanked HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani for inaugurating the competition and declaring the start of the marathon. Al Hamad highlighted that the directives and support of president of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, who is also the president of the organizing committee, for the role His Excellency played in ensuring the success of the competition. He called on fans to come to Khalifa International Stadium to support the champions who will be competing for the title this year. (QNA)
