World Athletics Championships: Anderson Peters Wins Javelin Throw Gold

Doha, October 06 (QNA) - Anderson Peters won Sunday the gold medal in Javelin throw, in the final day of World Athletics Championships that are taking place in Qatar's Khalifa International Stadium. The 21 year-old won after besting his personal record and reaching a distance of 86.89 meters. He is the second athlete from Grenada to win a gold medal in the World Athletics Championships. Estonia's Magnus Kirt came in a second place with a best of 86.21 meters. The bronze medal went to Germany's Johannes Vetter, who got a best of 85.37 meters. The latter failed to defend his title and become the second player to do so in the history of the sport. (QNA)
