YOG 2014 Volunteers Decorate Media Centres At Sports Venues

From AHMAD MULIADY ABDUL MAJID NANJING, Aug 26 (Bernama) -- Volunteers of the Youth Olympic Games, comprising college and university students from the Nanjing district have creatively decorated the media centre at each of the sports venues as the event enters its 10th day. Bernama understands that the best media centre will receive a prize from the organiser in appreciation of the volunteers' creative effort. One of the volunteers on duty at the gymnastics venue situated at the Nanjing OSC Gymnasium, Zheng Yuhan, said her idea of decorating the wall of the media centre was inspired when she saw bottle caps discarded by media personnel. "I got the idea to build a wall decoration when I saw the bottle caps thrown away by members of the media. My friends and I painted each bottle cap with the colours representing various countries involved in this sport," she told Bernama Tuesday. Zheng, a Nanjing University Of Science and Technology (NUST) student said she was assisted by her colleagues Geng Ningyue, Wong Xloa and others in the task of beautifying the media centre. -- BERNAMA
