Youth Ministry-UNDP cooperation explored

Manama, Apr. 4 (BNA): Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Hisham bin Mohammed Al Jowder received the Deputy UNDP Resident Representative, Amin Al Sharqawi. Al Jowder praised Al Sharqawi's efforts in boosting the Bahrain-UNDP cooperation, lauding the role of the UNDP in the accomplishment of 2015-2030 sustainable development goals (SDGs) in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The minister reaffirmed the government's commitment to achieving SDGs in all fields in cooperation with the UNDP to attain optimal application that ensures the country's proceeding on the right of path of prosperity and progress. He expressed the ministry's aspiration to frame its cooperation with the UNDP in line with the Government Action Plan relevant to youth and to avail from the UNDP's expertise and capabilities in devising youth development strategies. The two sides reviewed the ministry's goals and strategies and youth development programmes. They explored the bilateral cooperation to achieve the aspirations of Bahraini youth in sustainable development goals and provision of programmes that will help promote the culture of sustainable development goals. Al Sharqawi expressed his appreciation to the minister for his aspiration to fruitful cooperation with the UNDP which will contribute in application of numerous joint programmes that will culminate in positive results for the youth movement which receives the government's support and follow up, reaffirming the keenness of both sides frame their cooperation is a realistic opportunity to provide more programmes for Bahraini youth and dedicate all UNDP's expertise and potentials in support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports to achieve the sustainable development goals.
