Youth, sports minister visits villages

Manama, Apr. 25 (BNA): Following directives from His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs Hesham bin Mohammed Al-Jowdar has paid field visits to a number of villages in the Northern Governorate. Accompanied by MP Shaikh Majed Al Majed, Chairman of the Northern Municipal Council Mohammed Khalifa Buhamud and officials from the General Organisation for Youth and Sport (GOYS), the minister met citizens and representatives of the villages and was informed about their needs following the visit of their delegation to HRH Premier in which they highlighted their needs regarding youth and sport infrastructure and acquisition of lands to set up youth and sport projects. In Bouri, the minister met villagers and board members of the Bouri Club. He was informed about the club's plans and programmes, its infrastructure and needs to establish new facilities. In Damistan, villagers and the Chairman of the local youth centre highlighted their needs, especially the completion of the building and equipping it, among others. The minister also visited the Quraya village where local citizens highlighted their needs in youth and sport sector, and Al-Janabiya village, where the citizens requested building public areas that serve youth. Al-Jowdar affirmed the Youth and Sports Affairs Ministry's keenness to implement HRH Premier's directives on determining the needs of the villages and fulfilling them to embrace youth across the kingdom. MP Al-Majed said that HRH Premier's directives reflect his constant interest in mobilising all potentials to embrace Bahraini youngsters, being the assets of the future. The Northern Municipal Council Chairman lauded HRH the Prime Minister's directives to ministers to make field visits to be informed closely about the villagers' needs, expressing confidence in the keenness of the Youth and Sports Affairs Minister to fulfill the needs of the citizens. He also affirmed the municipal council's full cooperation with the ministry in this regard.
