Syria, Tunisia discuss enhancing bilateral ties

Damascus, SANA- Syria and Tunisia stressed the importance of boosting the bilateral relations between the two countries in all areas.

This came during a phone call held by Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad on Wednesday with his Tunisian counterpart Nabil Ammar, as they discussed continuing consultation and coordination between the two countries in various domains.

Minister Mikdad also conveyed the greetings of President Bashar al-Assad to his Excellency President Kais Saied of Tunisia.

The two sides highlighted the importance of enhancing bilateral ties between the two brotherly countries in accordance with the directives of the two Presidents al-Assad and Saied.
In this context, they stressed the importance of reinforcing positive conditions in the Arab arena, which will reflect positively on the issues and challenges facing Arab countries.

“Syria attaches great importance to its relations with Tunisia and it is taking all necessary procedures to strengthen brotherly relations between the two countries, including the arrangements made by the Syrian side to re-open the Syrian embassy in the Tunisian capital and to appoint an ambassador in the next short period,” Minister Mikdad stated.

In turn, the Tunisian Foreign Minister underlined the importance of moving forward with the Syrian-Tunisian relations in light of the common interests that bind the two brotherly countries, stressing the importance of continuing consultation and coordination between the two sides in various fields.
