Grab to Expand GrabFood In Malaysia's Klang Valley

PETALING JAYA (Selangor, Malaysia), May 18 (Bernama) -- Southeast Asia’s leading on-demand transportation and fintech platform, Grab, will extend its new online food ordering and delivery platform, GrabFood, to more areas in the Klang Valley by the end of this month. Currently, GrabFood only delivers to selected areas such as Sri Hartamas, Bangsar, Mont Kiara and Bukit Damansara. "With our acquisition of Uber's operations in Malaysia and the expansion of GrabFood across the region, we are working with local merchants and delivery partners to send the best of Malaysia's kitchens to the doorsteps of millions in the very near future," said Grab Malaysia country head, Sean Goh during a briefing on the ‘Future of Grab’, here, Friday. He said Grab would also expand the use of GrabPay as mobile wallet – expected to happen by July – to enable payments to cash-based merchants. GrabPay allows consumers to pay seamlessly for GrabFood purchases while enjoying GrabRewards points for every order. “The service is expected to create new income and job opportunities for delivery partners while merchant partners will enjoy incremental business revenue by tapping on large user base,” Goh said. Earlier, he explained Grab’s future plan as a one-stop application centre to serve the daily essential needs of Malaysians beyond ride-hailing and making transportation accessible to all. "GrabFood and GrabPay mobile are the next major steps in our move to serve the daily essential needs of consumers,” he said. -- BERNAMA
