Iran attaches great importance to ties with Baku : minister

Baku, Nov 8, IRNA – Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi said Iran attaches special importance to ties with the Republic of Azerbaijan. He made the remarks in a meeting with the Azeri Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov here on Saturday. He said the last year visit to Tehran of the Azeri President Ilham Aliyev was a major step towards promotion of bilateral relations. The Azeri minister pointed to the importance of expanding bilateral relations and said friendly ties between the two countries will also help establish regional peace and development. On regional developments, he said Armenia's military invasion against the Republic of Azerbaijan was a source of true threat for the region. Vaezi said Iran supported Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and called for return home of war displaced people./end
