Iran Ready To Boost Ties With Iraq In Communications Infrastructures

Tehran, June 17, IRNA - Deputy minister for communications and information technology Hassan Mazloumi here on Monday voiced Iranˈs willingness to cooperate with Iraq on expansion of optical fiber capacities and communications infrastructures. Mazloumi made the remarks in a meeting with visiting deputy Iraqi Minister of Communications for Technical Affairs Amir Khadr Al-Bayati. He underlined the need for enhancement of communication and telecommunication cooperation between the two countries. Mazloumi also pointed to numerous cultural, religious and geographical commonalities shared by the two countries. Al-Bayati, for his part, stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran is considered as the main East-West communication route in the region./end
