Iran-S.Korea To Boost Scientific, Technological Co-op

Tehran, Jan 29, IRNA – Vice-President for scientific and technological affairs, Sourena Sattari and the visiting S.Korean Parliament Speaker Kang Chang-Hee underlined the need to promote strategic and sustainable cooperation in the fields of science and technology. Sattari said that Presidential Officeˈs Scientific and Technological Department is keen to develop ties with South Korea, in the field of technology in particular. He further noted that the department is seeking to forge communication between industry and university and bring technologies to public life. Sattari also said that his department welcomes South Korean companiesˈ participation in Iranian projects. Kang Chang-Hee, for his part, said that Iran enjoy a very powerful scientific basis. ˈCurrently, 4.30 percent of the countryˈs entire production pertain to research and development,ˈ he said, noting that the figure will rise to five percent in 2017. He also proposed holding further meetings in a bid to help promote mutual cooperation in the field of science and technology./end
